According to CoinMeta, as reported by bitcoin.com, the Swedish tax authority has demanded that six cryptocurrency mining companies in Boden City pay back approximately $56.5 million in taxes and fines, accusing them of illegally exploiting tax incentives. This enforcement action stems from an industry-wide audit conducted from 2024 to 2026, during which a total of nine mining companies across the country were required to pay back over $50 million in taxes. Among them, a subsidiary of Hive Digital, Bikupan Datacenter, has already initiated financial restructuring and filed an appeal. According to an investigation by SVT Norrbotten, these crypto mining companies have caused the Swedish government to lose about $100 million in tax revenue.
