South Korean digital asset custodian bdacs adopts LayerZero's OFT standards for krw1 stablecoins
2026-09-08 09:25:38
According to CoinMeta, as reported by LayerZero, South Korean digital asset custodian bdacs has adopted the OFT standard of LayerZero for its Korean won stablecoin krw1, in order to unify multi-chain issuance and cross-chain transfers. During cross-chain transactions, tokens will be deducted from the source chain and newly issued on the target chain, preventing the creation of isolated assets on different chains. Users can complete these transfers through Stargate. It is also mentioned that OFT is similarly adopted by other stablecoins such as USDT0, PYUSD, and USDG, which are issued by bdacs and backed 1:1 by Korean won reserves held by Woori Bank of Korea (Woori Bank).
