2026-09-08 04:59:02
According to CoinMeta, the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is considering lifting the ban on predictive markets for retail investors that has been in place since 2019. The FCA has already contacted predictive market companies to discuss whether to relax this ban. Predictive markets offer binary options on events such as sports, politics, and weather, and therefore were subject to this restriction. Based on forecasts by the FCA, the trading volume in the predictive market industry could reach approximately $240 billion in 2026 and $1 trillion by 2030.
