SHIB Makes a Breakthrough Over Key Hurdles in Japan, Opening the Doors to the Market

According to CoinMeta, SHIB (Chiba Inu Coin) has gained a stronger foothold under Japan’s regulatory framework, which may pave the way for the launch of cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in that country in the future. According to Mazrael, a long-time member of the community, on July 15, 2026, Japan’s parliament incorporated cryptocurrencies into the Financial Instruments Law (FIEA), placing them in the same category as stocks and thus opening the door for crypto ETF. Mazrael also noted that although Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) still needs to establish rules and it is not expected that there will be any initial listings until at least 2027, SHIB has already been included in the regulatory “green list” and is on par with BTC and ETH. Japan’s largest market platform, Mercari, also launched SHIB in June 2026 and now has 23 million users. Mazrael summarized that these developments provide SHIB with an advantage in the competition in Japan.
