According to CoinMeta, Hanwha Investment & Securities of South Korea has completed the development of a securities tokenization platform based on Avalanche in collaboration with blockchain technology company Fairsquare Lab. This platform is also capable of operating on networks such as Hyperledger Besu. Starting from February 4, 2027, South Korea will officially recognize distributed ledgers as securities registration institutions and incorporate securities tokens into the existing capital market system. The South Korean Financial Services Commission plans to advance securities tokenization in three phases. In the initial phase, it will cover private money market funds, bonds, unlisted stocks issued through trust structures, and split investment securities. Subsequently, this may be extended to all publicly issued securities, and there will also be exploration of using stablecoins for settling securities on the chain.
