Nike withdraws from the S&P 100 due to a 78% plunge in its stock price
2026-09-07 02:42:41
According to CoinMeta, Nike will be removed from the S&P 100 index on September 21 due to its stock price having fallen by about 78% since November 2021. Its current market value is around $57 billion, which is a significant reduction from $264 billion at the end of 2021. Meanwhile, companies such as Dell, Palo Alto Networks, Arista Networks, and SanDisk will join the index, reflecting the market's preference for tech stocks. Although Nike still retains its position in the broader S&P 500, its status as a blue-chip stock in the market has been challenged. Nike's revenue for the fiscal year 2026 was $46.4 billion, essentially unchanged from last year, with its currency-neutral revenue declining by 4% in the fourth quarter.
