According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Polish radio stations, on September 4th, the lower house of the Polish parliament failed to override the veto of President Karol Nawrocki regarding the cryptocurrency regulation bill. The voting results were 241 votes in favor of overturning the veto, 198 votes against, and 3 abstentions, which is still 25 votes short of the required 266 votes. The bill proposes to designate the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) as the regulatory body for the cryptocurrency market, and it had previously been vetoed by Nawrocki three times. The president believes that the bill imposes excessive regulation on the industry and may force Polish companies to relocate overseas. Prime Minister Donald Tusk, on the other hand, cited a related investigation into the defunct exchange ZondaCrypto before the vote, calling on lawmakers to support the bill.
