According to CoinMeta, software stocks performed exceptionally well in August, recording the second-best month since 2002, while chip stocks were unable to maintain their gains throughout the month. The technology and software industry ( ETF ) saw a rise of over 16% in August, whereas semiconductors ( ETF ) only gained 1%. The S&P 500 index rose by more than 2.5%. In mid-August, chip stocks showed positive performance, but in the last two weeks of the month, they gave back most of their gains, while software stocks continued to rise. With the strong performance of software stocks, the market is uncertain about September's prospects. Historical data indicates that software stocks usually perform well before September 15th, but there may be a pullback thereafter.
