According to CoinMeta, the Ministry of Finance and the State Taxation Administration have issued a notice stating that foreign individuals receiving dividends from foreign-invested enterprises are subject to a 20% individual income tax on such dividends. Foreign-invested enterprises are required to withhold and remit this tax on their behalf. The notice will come into effect on September 1, 2026.
