According to CoinMeta, on Tuesday, government bond yields in major global markets soared due to renewed concerns about inflation sparked by unrest in the Middle East. The yield on 10-year U.S. Treasury bonds rose to a 20-month high, increasing by 3 basis points to 4.7880%. The yield on Japan's benchmark 10-year Treasury bonds increased by more than 6 basis points, hitting 3% for the first time, while the yield on short-term 2-year Treasury bonds also reached a 31-year high of 1.81%. Meanwhile, the yield on 10-year British Treasury bonds (i.e., pound-denominated bonds) rose by more than 9 basis points to 5.2341%, the highest level since the global financial crisis in 2008. Inflationary pressures have once again drawn investors' attention as the United States and Iran engaged in retaliatory strikes in the Strait of Hormuz, driving up energy prices. Brent crude oil prices rose by about 2.2% to $92.38 per barrel, and West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures rose by 2.61% to $88.05.
