He pointed out that the US military attack on Larak Island on Sunday was aimed at preventing Iran from laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz. Pence accused the Iranian leadership of attempting to cut off oil and natural gas exports as a move that "lacks strategic wisdom" and called Iranian leaders "truly crazy." He added that Washington had anticipated such actions by Tehran beforehand.
