According to CoinMeta, Russian crypto transactions are expected to generate over $46 billion in trading volume for compliant exchanges in the first year after legalization. Based on estimates by Russia's largest bank, the trading volume of crypto on compliant domestic exchanges is expected to reach 4 trillion rubles (approximately $46.4 billion). Vice Chairman Anatoly Popov of Sber stated that although the trading volume is expected to grow, the trading volume of compliant platforms may be limited due to a large number of crypto transactions still being conducted through exchanges not registered in Russia. This forecast was released before Russia's new crypto market regulations came into effect on September 1st, with the relevant laws signed by President Putin on August 4th.
