CodexHost Open Source: Packing Claude Code, Pi, and Grok All into Codex Desktop
2026-08-31 19:00:26
According to CoinMeta, the CodexHost open-source project has transformed the Codex desktop into a multi-agent workspace. It currently supports Codex, Claude Code, Pi, Oh My Pi, Grok Build, and DeepSeek Harness, allowing for the creation and management of different agent sessions within the same window. Codex Desktop is responsible for the unified interface, while each agent still runs its own Harness. Different agent can collaborate with each other; for example, when Codex is writing code, they can launch Claude Code for code review, and then Codex can read the results afterward. Installing CodexHost will not modify the official Codex nor will it replace Codex CLI. Normally, directly opening Codex Desktop or running Codex CLI does not go through it; it only takes effect when starting from CodexHost.
