According to CoinMeta, and based on the analysis by a16zcrypto, about one-fifth of Argentina's population uses cryptocurrencies. In 2024, the downloads of 15 major cryptocurrency applications in the country increased by 93% year-on-year. Among cryptocurrency transactions in Argentine pesos, 94% went towards stablecoins, which is the highest proportion among the main currencies tracked by artemis. Despite Argentina's monthly inflation rate dropping from 25.5% to 2.1%, the downloads of major cryptocurrency wallets such as lemon continued to grow. As of July 2026, the proportion of contract workers in Argentina receiving payments via USDC was still about one-fifth of their respective peak levels, along with the inflation rates.
