According to CoinMeta, Gabriel Perez, a former White House teleprompter operator, was ordered by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to pay $172,500 for engaging in illegal trading on the Kalshi platform by utilizing advance access to President Donald Trump's speech content. Perez is required to return $107,500 in illegal profits and pay a civil fine of $65,000, as well as face a three-year trading ban. During his tenure from December 2025 to February 2026, Perez traded Trump "market mention" contracts on the Kalshi platform.
