Bitcoin successfully mined its first quantum-safe transaction

According to CoinMeta, on August 26th, Bitcoin confirmed its first quantum-safe transaction. The quantum-safe Bitcoin method (QSB) developed by researcher Avihu Levy was tested on the mainnet. This transaction was mined using Mara's private Slipstream service, avoiding any changes to Bitcoin's existing consensus rules. A output of 100 million聪 was used in this test, and it was confirmed in Bitcoin block 964,199. The QSB method is intended to address the risk of public keys being exposed after a transaction is broadcasted, preventing powerful quantum computers from deriving private keys and redirecting funds during that time. Although this method avoids changes to the consensus, it requires high computational power; generating the proof may take several hours using high-end graphics cards.
