Kevin Warsh: Jackson Hole speech may impact markets, probability of Federal Funds Rate hike increases
2026-08-28 19:08:40
According to CoinMeta, Kevin Warsh will give a speech at the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium on Friday, and investors are looking forward to him providing insights regarding the Federal Reserve's interest rate hikes, inflation, and the outlook for U.S. interest rates. Since December last year, the Federal Reserve's benchmark interest rate has remained unchanged at 3.50%-3.75%, but inflation data in July strengthened the case for further policy tightening. Currently, the market estimates that there is about a 35% chance of the Federal Reserve raising interest rates at its meeting on September 16. In addition, Jeffrey Schmid, the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, and Beth Hammack, the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, have also expressed doubts about whether current interest rates are sufficient to curb inflation.
