According to CoinMeta, as reported by bits and media, the Central Bank of Russia stated that it has included 2,600 cryptocurrency wallet addresses involved in illegal activities in a specialized information system. These addresses belong to legal entities, various projects, and individual operators. During their existence, these addresses received a total value of approximately 1 billion rubles in cryptocurrencies. The system is open to government agencies and law enforcement departments, which can use it to assess customer risk profiles and conduct financial investigations. If transactions are associated with the addresses in the system, relevant bank transactions may be intercepted. The Central Bank of Russia mentioned that 74% of the cases involve digital assets used by financial pyramids and scammers, including investment scams under the guise of cryptocurrencies, mining, fake data centers, and token issuance by scammers, as well as encrypted loan services that circumvent the official financial system to borrow US dollar-pegged stablecoins USDT.
