Grayscale CEO Mintzberg: Digital assets are driven by institutional demand and blockchain technology

According to CoinMeta, Grayscale CEO Peter Mintzberg stated that the market should not focus solely on short-term price fluctuations; the adoption of digital assets is being driven by increasing institutional demand and enterprises adopting blockchain technology. He mentioned that in 2025, the daily capital flow of Bitcoin ETP exceeded $500 million multiple times, which is about 12 times the number of new tokens generated by Bitcoin miners each day. Despite sales this year, US-listed spot Bitcoin ETP recorded inflows for three consecutive weeks after eight weeks of outflows. Mintzberg also cited a survey of over 350 institutional investors conducted by EY in 2026, which indicated that 73% of respondents planned to increase their allocation of digital assets. Additionally, about 60% of Fortune executives from 500 companies said their firms were advancing blockchain projects. He believes that digital assets are becoming part of the existing regulatory framework, and artificial intelligence and public blockchains are complementary technologies.
