According to CoinMeta, the South Korean financial group Future Asset plans to build a digital asset business worth 150 trillion Korean won (about $109 billion) around Digital X, which will cover cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and tokenized assets. The plan includes the tokenization of physical assets such as gold, silver, and electricity. In July, Future Asset acquired 97.15% of the shares of Korbit, and subsequently renamed it Digital X, marking the first time that a South Korean financial group has taken control of a domestic cryptocurrency exchange. Park Hyun-joo, the founder and chairman of Future Asset, stated during an employee event in Seoul that the initial goal of Digital X is to become a core pillar of “Future Asset 3.0.”
