According to CoinMeta, Pakistan has stated that it is not obligated to comply with sanctions against Iran unless they are imposed by the United Nations. This stance indicates that Pakistan is still willing to continue trade with Iran despite the warnings from the United States that countries conducting business with Tehran may face economic penalties. Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Tahir Andrabi said that Islamabad is adhering to the bilateral agreements reached with Iran. Trade between the two countries remains active, and both sides are interested in further expanding it. Pakistan has relied on its relationship with Iran to participate in negotiations to facilitate the evacuation of oil tankers and agreed to complete a free trade agreement as soon as possible, with plans to increase bilateral trade volume to $10 billion, more than tripling the current level.
