Blackstone reduces the minimum transaction amount for IBIT to $1 million, driving a shift towards self-custody

According to CoinMeta, Blackstone Group has reduced the minimum transaction amount for its Bitcoin trust (iShares) to $1 million, which is a 96% decrease from the previous $25 million. This change allows more large Bitcoin holders to convert their existing Bitcoin holdings into shares of Blackstone's digital assets. Robbie Mitchnick, the head of Blackstone's digital assets, stated that this process has already involved over $5 billion in Bitcoin. This adjustment also reflects that some Bitcoin holders, after considering the risks of self-storing, may transfer part or all of their Bitcoin holdings to such structures.
