According to CoinMeta, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an emergency executive order that, on the grounds of national security, prohibits the United States from purchasing or installing certain large-scale power system equipment and related software manufactured abroad that may pose cybersecurity or operational risks, including key equipment such as transformers. The executive order allows the Secretary of Energy to impose restrictions on already installed related equipment when necessary and requires the Department of Energy to develop and implement regulations within 120 days, but it does not apply to local distribution facilities. American domestic electrical equipment manufacturers affected by this executive order include Solaredge, Enphase Energy, and Tesla.
