Bitcoin Falls Below $78,000; Inflation in July PCE Exceeds the Fed's Target
2026-08-26 23:48:11
According to CoinMeta, recently the price of Bitcoin fell below $78,000 due to July's personal consumption expenditure ( PCE ) inflation data exceeding the Federal Reserve's targets. Bitcoin once rose to around $81,235 on Wednesday, but then declined due to U.S. inflation data being higher than expected. Official data shows that in July, the PCE price index rose 0.2% month-on-month and 3.7% year-on-year, which is higher than the market's expectation of 3.6%. Persistent inflation may lead to interest rates and Treasury yields remaining at relatively high levels, affecting investors' demand for volatile assets.
