According to CoinMeta, Dubai International Airport stated that due to the disruption of air travel caused by the Iran war, passenger throughput decreased by nearly one-third in the first half of this year, and it is expected that demand will pick up in the second half of the year. Passenger throughput in the second quarter was 13 million people, with the total passenger flow for the first half of the year reaching 31.5 million people. Although there was a slight rebound in passenger numbers in May and June, the passenger flow for the first half of the year still decreased by 31% compared to the record levels set in the same period last year. The Iran war has led to a reconfiguration of global air traffic routes, and Dubai International Airport has been repeatedly disrupted. The airport mentioned that due to the significant decrease in passenger throughput, the goal of achieving an annual passenger throughput of 100 million people has been postponed by one year. Major airlines in the Middle East, such as Emirates, Qatar Airways, and Etihad Airways, have all reduced their operations and adjusted their international route networks to accommodate travel needs during the war. Several European airlines have also suspended flights to multiple destinations in the region and avoided the airspace of several Gulf countries.
