Netherlands International: Investors' focus may shift to short-term U.S. Treasury bonds
2026-08-26 14:18:15
According to CoinMeta, strategists from ING Group, Padhraic Garvey and Michiel Tukker, market discussions surrounding the U.S. Treasury Department's decision to double the scale of long-term U.S. debt repurchases continue to intensify. However, as the Jackson Hole Symposium approaches, market attention will gradually shift to short-term bonds. In a report, the two strategists noted that U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen continues to dominate the long-term bond market, and Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell may also wish to play a similar role in the short-term bond market, although he has chosen to remain low-key for now. The strategists stated that Powell will have the opportunity to further elaborate on his views at the Jackson Hole Symposium on Friday.
