According to CoinMeta, Wu said that the Lisk team has proposed to terminate the governance of Lisk DAO, plans to stop DAO and related governance infrastructure, and will destroy 100 million LSK tokens that were originally scheduled to belong to DAO and treasury from 2027 to 2033. This will reduce the total supply from 400 million to 300 million tokens. Additionally, it is proposed to transfer approximately 47 million LSK tokens that have already been allocated or are available by 2026 to Lisk Ltd. The proposal will also allow stakers to exit without a penalty after waiting for 3 days through an emergency unlock mechanism. Lisk previously announced that Lisk Chain would be closed on October 31st; however, the above arrangements still need to be implemented after the governance proposal is approved.
