According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Reuters, the US dollar rebounded slightly on Tuesday due to investors' analysis of Washington's expanded sanctions against Iran and efforts to alleviate pressure on long-term government bond yields. US Treasury Secretary Scott Branson announced on Monday an expansion of sanctions against Iran, warning countries to cut off business ties with Tehran, otherwise they would face the risk of being forced to withdraw from the US dollar financial system. The dollar rose 0.1% against the Canadian dollar to 1.3860 CAD, a 0.6% increase from Monday, marking the largest single-day gain in two months. Bitcoin surpassed $80,000 for the first time since mid-May, with a monthly increase of nearly 30%.
