Monad Proposes Wallet Upgrade Plan to Support Key Rotation and Quantum Security
2026-08-25 17:45:54
According to CoinMeta, Monad has proposed a wallet security upgrade solution that allows users to replace lost or outdated encryption keys while maintaining the same blockchain address and assets. This proposal separates the permanent address of Monad accounts from the authentication credentials used for authorizing transactions, thus paving the way for key rotation, social recovery, passphrases, and post-quantum security. Researchers Kushal Babel and Jan Camenisch from Monad have proposed this design, aiming to support “post-quantum accounts” and user-friendly authentication methods. The proposal is still in its early stages, and the specific implementation details are yet to be developed.
