According to CoinMeta, SpaceX announced the completion of its acquisition of Cursor, with a transaction valuation of approximately $60 billion. The team will be integrated into SpaceXAI to continue developing Cursor and its related products. The deal was finalized in June, with SpaceX acquiring Cursor's parent company, Anysphere, entirely in stock. On the day of the acquisition, Elon Musk delivered a speech to all employees of Cursor, acknowledging that their AI product Grok lagged behind competitors and urging the team to catch up as soon as possible. Musk also praised their competitor Anthropic, stating that they held a leading position in the field of AI. Cursor CEO Michael Truell reports directly to Musk, and two of the co-founders of Cursor have also joined SpaceXAI's pre-training and machine learning teams.
