According to CoinMeta, oil prices fell by more than $2 on Monday as investors locked in profits after recent gains and showed a lukewarm reaction to the new round of U.S. sanctions against Iran. The price of Brent crude oil dropped by about $2, or 2.3%, to around $92, while the price of U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude also fell to near $85. Despite the U.S. pressure on Tehran, traders believe that the latest measures have not substantially changed the situation. Morgan Stanley's bullish forecast for Brent crude oil in the fourth quarter indicates that the market is still pricing in potential upside risks.
