According to CoinMeta, Trump’s oil and gas stocks appreciated by up to $15.5 million during the Iran war. Congressional Democrats stated that in Trump’s 2025 annual financial disclosure, he reported holding between $12.5 million and $45.6 million in oil and gas stocks. The committee noted that these holdings appreciated by an average of about 39% as of August 17, with an estimated value ranging from $17.2 million to $61.1 million. Trump’s major energy holdings include ExxonMobil and Chevron. In addition, the stocks of Valero Energy and Marathon Petroleum have doubled since the beginning of the year. The Democratic committee also found that Trump purchased an additional $3.6 million in oil and gas stocks in the first three months of 2026, including shares of Chevron acquired within weeks after the U.S. actions against Venezuela.
