According to CoinMeta, as Bitcoin broke through $80,000, concerns about inflation and fiscal deficits intensified, leading to a continuation of the upward trend for cryptocurrencies at the beginning of this week. On Monday, Bitcoin rose by 2%, approaching $80,000, its highest point since May. Ethereum also increased by 2%, with a trading price of around $2,500, reaching its highest level since January. Investors are focusing on whether this rebound in Bitcoin marks a turning point, especially after a downturn since last October. Analyst Jonathan Krinsky pointed out that Bitcoin also experienced a similar 20% increase over three days in January 2023. Last week, the Treasury Department announced plans to double its purchases of long-term government bonds, which boosted demand for risky assets such as Bitcoin. Spot Bitcoin ETF saw a capital inflow of $1.92 billion last week, the largest weekly inflow since October last year. At the same time, more than $4 billion in bearish crypto positions were liquidated. Bridgewater Fund founder Ray Dalio warned that major economies may face debt crises and advised investors to hold “a small amount” of Bitcoin, further reinforcing the trend of this crypto asset.
