Arthur Hayes: Cryptocurrencies are tools to hedge against the US debt crisis and money printing
2026-08-24 20:20:31
According to CoinMeta, Arthur Hayes stated in an interview with Altcoin Daily that as the pressure of the US $40 trillion national debt rises, Bitcoin and crypto assets have become tools to hedge against the risks of central banks printing money and accumulating debt. He pointed out that the US's expansion of long-term Treasury bond repurchase programs sends a signal; when long-term Treasury bond yields approach 5%, the government may intervene in the market using liquidity tools, which would be beneficial for crypto assets. In addition, Hayes is optimistic about Ethereum, believing that since it has not surpassed its historical high from 2021 and possesses a mature DeFi ecosystem and developer base, it is more likely to outperform the market in the next phase.
