The six new institutions are all German cooperative banks, including Raiffeisenbank Aidlingen, Ihre Volksbank, VR - Bank Mittelfranken Mitte, Volksbank Euskirchen, VR Bank Ried - Ü berwald, and Volksbank Backnang. Data from ESMA shows that the total number of authorized crypto asset service providers in the EU has reached 331. The German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) stated that the higher number of licenses in Germany is due to the larger scale of its financial system, as well as the fact that some institutions regulated by German authorities can use simplified authorization procedures during the transitional period stipulated by MiCA.
