According to CoinMeta, the code hosting platform Origin for Cursor was accidentally opened to some users and is compatible with Git. It is specifically designed for scenarios that involve high-frequency reading, writing, and code submission related to AI and agent. Pages shown by early users indicated that Origin supported one-click import of repositories from GitHub, automatic resolution of merge conflicts, and global synchronization in less than 400ms. A single repository could process about 22 submissions per second, which amounts to approximately 296,000 clones per hour. This opening seemed to be an accident, as Cursor later notified users that this was only a preliminary test of Origin. Meanwhile, Shopify CEO Tobi L and tke also open-sourced their underlying Git architecture, with the project named Walgit, which replicates Origin's self-developed Continuity. By storing final data in S3, Walgit has achieved more efficient repository management.
