According to CoinMeta, on August 24, 2026, banks and financial regulatory agencies jointly launched a cross-regional quantum security encryption pilot project aimed at testing the post-quantum security of digital asset wallets and blockchain transactions. The fintech research institute responsible for this project collaborated with Safeheron, a provider of digital asset custody infrastructure. Bison Bank and DK Bank will test wallet creation and on-chain transactions in a shared application environment. The Abu Dhabi Global Market, Gelephu Financial Services Office in Bhutan, and the Malta Financial Services Authority will participate as observers. This pilot is designed to help financial institutions test how to adopt new signing standards before the widespread adoption of quantum computers. Safeheron has developed a multi-party computing protocol that supports ML-DSA-65, which is one of the parameter sets in the NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) 204 standard in the United States.
