Tencent Games reorganizes the AI team: Recruiting according to Seedance standards, aiming to use video models directly for game development

According to CoinMeta, Tencent Games is reorganizing its AI team and plans to adopt the recruitment methods of Seedance, with a focus on video world models and AI native games. The new organization will integrate Arc Lab and the existing AI team, and continue to recruit on a large scale. The two teams previously had different divisions of labor: Arc Lab was more focused on cutting-edge research, mainly working on world models, game Agent, and generative AI games; while the AI team was more geared towards engineering implementation, responsible for converting large models and Agent capabilities into game development tools and infrastructure. This adjustment brings together "model research" and "applying models to games." The new department will cover areas such as audio-video basic models, data, video world models, Agent, and products. Its organizational structure is modeled after ByteDance's Seedance and Kuaishou's Keliing, including aspects related to talent, data, and training engineering. It is reported that the team currently has about a hundred members and may expand to 400 to 500 in the future. One of the ultimate goals is to explore the creation of interactive game worlds directly using video models.
