Goldman Sachs raises its market forecast for WFE from 2026 to 2028, driven by DRAM and foundry demand

According to CoinMeta and research by Chaoxiang, in a research report on August 23, Goldman Sachs raised its market forecasts for wafer front-end equipment (WFE) from 2026 to 2028 to $150 billion, $218 billion, and $281 billion respectively. DRAM and advanced process foundry manufacturing are the main drivers of this growth. The capital expenditure forecasts for Samsung and SK SK Hynix were raised by 22% and 19% respectively, while TSMC's annual capital expenditure was increased by $8 billion. SpaceX and Tesla's commitment of $16.8 billion for equipment investment in the initial phase have been incorporated into the WFE forecasts. Goldman Sachs highly recommends Application Materials, Lamina Semiconductor, ASML, Tokyo Electron, ASMI, BESI, Lasertec, and Ebara.
