U.S. stock futures decline slightly, Dow Jones closes down for two consecutive weeks

According to CoinMeta, U.S. stock market futures fell slightly on Sunday evening as traders attempted to recover from losses incurred last week due to a sharp rise in Treasury yields. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures dropped by 44 points, or 0.1%. Standard & Poor's 500 Index futures and Nasdaq 100 Index futures fell by 0.1% and 0.2%, respectively. Last week, the Dow Jones index fell by 0.8%, marking its second consecutive week of decline. The yield on 30-year U.S. Treasury bonds broke through 5.3% last week, reaching a level not seen in nearly 20 years, and the rise in global bond yields put pressure on stocks. Investors are concerned that a war between the United States and Iran could continue, which could drive up oil prices and exacerbate inflation. Treasury Secretary Scott Branson announced some measures to help stabilize the long end of the U.S. yield curve. Investors will receive new inflation data this week, with the July Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index being released on Wednesday.
