According to CoinMeta, the Turkish Central Bank has decided to resume weekly repurchase auctions at a policy interest rate of 37%, which also indicates that the central bank believes that the most severe impact of the Iran war on the economy may have passed. At the beginning of March this year, the Turkish Central Bank shifted the source of funds provided to commercial banks from the 37% policy interest rate to the higher-cost 40% overnight lending rate, which was essentially equivalent to a hidden increase in interest rates. However, the Turkish Central Bank did not specify when the repurchase auctions would be restarted in its statement on Sunday evening.
