Billionaire Ray Dalio: Bitcoin is expected to perform well
2026-08-22 02:38:19
According to CoinMeta, billionaire investor Ray Dalio stated in a post on LinkedIn that considering the rising debt and fiscal deficits faced by governments around the world, he expects Bitcoin to "perform relatively well." Dalio pointed out that the United States and other major economies are approaching a critical stage of their long-term debt cycles, with weakened government debt demand, rising long-term bond yields, and monetary expansion all being signs of increasing pressure. He mentioned that "most economies are facing similar debt and deficit problems," referring to countries such as the UK, the EU, China, and Japan. Although gold remains his preferred hedging tool, he also said that "a small portion of Bitcoin" is taken into consideration. Dalio stated in 2021 that he personally owns Bitcoin and mentioned in 2025 that investors could allocate up to 15% of their portfolios to gold or Bitcoin to protect themselves from currency devaluation. Dalio believes that Bitcoin has not become a major reserve asset due to concerns such as lack of financial privacy and the threat of quantum computing.
