According to CoinMeta, and as reported by The Block, a report from TRM Labs indicates that the use of artificial intelligence in crypto crimes has increased by 40% over the past year, driven mainly by fraudulent activities. Crypto hackers utilize artificial intelligence for vulnerability analysis, social engineering attacks, and penetration. In the first half of 2026, there were 201 hacker attacks on digital assets, with about 75% of the losses coming from just 4% of these incidents. Activities related to North Korea caused approximately $600 million in losses, accounting for 61% of the total losses for that half-year. Artificial intelligence has lowered the threshold for crime and expanded the scale of attacks.
