According to CoinMeta, public Bitcoin miners spent $5.11 billion on capital assets in the first half of 2026, while only reporting $341.2 million in revenue from artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. These figures indicate that miners are engaged in large-scale infrastructure construction before their new businesses reach full commercial capacity. Analysis by Blocksbridge Consulting shows that the ratio of capital expenditures to the directly reported AI and HPC revenues is approximately 15:1. Companies such as Core Scientific, Terawulf, and Bitdeer reported higher revenues from data center hosting or AI computing services. Data from Blocksbridge shows that 15 miners and AI data center companies spent a total of $30.7 billion in the latest 2026 reporting period, representing a 42.6% increase from $21.53 billion in 2025.
