According to CoinMeta, during a meeting of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission in the United States, Terry Duffy from the CME group had a confrontation with Chairman Michael Selig and Chief Operating Officer Luana Lopes Lara regarding market forecasting regulations. Terry Duffy claimed that some market forecasting contracts carried manipulation risks, to which Michael Selig refuted by calling it fake news and stated that the CFTC has exclusive jurisdiction over market forecasting, and has already initiated lawsuits with multiple states over regulatory disputes. Luana Lopes Lara questioned whether CME had ever encountered market manipulation, to which Terry Duffy responded that regulatory authorities are numerous, and Luana Lopes Lara suggested that they improve their efficiency.
