According to CoinMeta, Bitcoin broke through $72,000 this week, reaching a new high in six weeks, accompanied by a large amount of short-selling liquidation. This indicates that Bitcoin has been validated as a safe-haven asset, and the market "smelled blood," with investors flocking to Bitcoin in search of safety. This upward trend may have been driven by the U.S. Treasury Department's unexpected decision to significantly increase purchases of long-term government bonds, leading to a substantial decline in bond yields and a weakening of the dollar. According to data from Sosovalue, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF attracted approximately $517.2 million in net inflows on August 19, of which Blackstone's IBIT contributed $284.7 million, more than half of the total. CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju notes that demand for Bitcoin has turned positive for the first time in both the spot market and the perpetual futures market, although the increase is still modest.
