According to CoinMeta, Franklin Templeton is preparing to incorporate tokenized assets into traditional investment funds, which represents a new move for the company after receiving its first approval from U.S. regulators to use digital native products in traditional funds. The company plans to use its tokenized money market funds in ETF and mutual funds as holdings or collateral. This initiative is expected to take effect in the fourth quarter, although it may be implemented sooner than that. Franklin, the head of digital assets and innovation at the company, stated that tokenization will allow traditional assets such as stocks and bonds to exist in the form of tokens on digital ledgers. According to data from data provider RWA.xyz, the market value of tokenized assets has soared to approximately $38 billion over the past year.
