Belarus Advances De-Dollarization with Uzbekistan

According to CoinMeta, Belarus is advancing a de-dollarization agenda with Uzbekistan and has proposed to settle bilateral trade in their respective national currencies. Roman Golovchenko, the governor of the National Bank of Belarus, stated at a press conference that both countries "have all the conditions" for financial cooperation. He revealed that Belarus is opening multiple Nostro accounts to facilitate Uzbek exporters in making payments using their own currency. It is expected that by the end of 2026, trade volume between the two countries will reach $2 billion, doubling from last year.
