According to CoinMeta, SpaceX has been in contact with artificial intelligence programming startup Cognition AI to discuss potential acquisitions. If the deal is finalized, it would become SpaceX's second major acquisition in recent months aimed at gaining a lead in the AI competition. Sources indicate that the acquisition negotiations between the two parties have currently been put on hold, but they are still discussing cooperation, which may include arranging for Cognition to utilize SpaceX's computing power. Cognition was valued at $26 billion in its first round of financing in May this year and is now in preliminary talks with investors for a new round of funding, with a valuation of at least $40 billion.
