According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has proposed new regulatory rules for crypto assets that would allow eligible crypto projects to raise up to $75 million per year without undergoing comprehensive securities registration. The proposal was made ahead of a Senate vote on September 15th and aims to provide crypto companies with clearer pathways for capital raising. The proposal includes two funding methods: one allows for the raising of up to $5 million over a four-year period, while the other permits the raising of $75 million every 12 months. The proposal also covers securities registration requirements in certain states and establishes anti-fraud and anti-manipulation rules. A 60-day public comment period has been initiated to allow market participants to provide feedback on the proposal.
